"Heiwa brings together a team of committed founding members and a family carrying the project as they embark on a journey."

The association’s founding members

The President

Jérémie GAUTRELET has worked as a climbing and martial arts instructor, a carpenter, and later as a military officer in a gendarmerie intervention unit. His diverse and well-rounded background gives him a unique set of skills essential to leading the family expedition.

The Secretary

Lylia BAQUERO is currently completing her studies at an art school. A 27-year-old young mother, she finances her education by working as an after-school activity leader. Driven by the dream of opening her own gallery, she brings to the association both valuable artistic sensitivity and strong technical skills for the creative projects of Heiwa.

The Treasurer

Jennifer ARNAULT works as a payroll manager, a professional expertise that makes her a perfect fit for her role within the association. In a relationship with an accountant, she provides solid support to ensure rigorous administrative management, guaranteeing transparency and financial stability for all of Heiwa’s actions.

Before introducing the rest of the team, let us tell you how it all began...

Ever since we got our motorhome, we’ve been traveling the roads as a family.
More than simple road trips, these journeys have been powerful human and cultural experiences, awakening in us—and in our children—a sense of wonder, curiosity, and reflection.

Over time, these breaks from everyday life became the seeds of a deeper question:

What if we went farther… and for longer?

It took us time to take the leap, to overcome the demands of our busy lives.
But today, that dream is coming true.

We’re setting off to travel around the world!

Once the decision was made, we began planning our adventure.
But as we progressed, we realized the journey was entirely centered on ourselves—something essential was missing.

This project was born from our role as parents, carried by the dream of a peaceful world for our children.

Our deep desire to pass on hope, trust, and the belief in a fairer future naturally led us down this path.

The search for meaning, the need to build real connections, to share, to create together—these were the driving forces we had already felt during previous adventures, and they now fuel our motivation more than ever.

From that vision, the Heiwa project was born: a living quest for peace in a changing world.

Because we believe that travel is a path to connection, that peace is cultivated through everyday gestures, and that children already carry the seeds of a more harmonious world—

This is what Heiwa means to us :

Sow the journey to harvest peace.

The Family

We are a French family based in Pau, a land of tradition and terroir, nestled between mountains and ocean.
We love to travel, enjoy outdoor sports, cook together, and explore the world through the people we meet—and of course, through music, reading, and writing.

Our children have grown up with a spirit of listening and respect, learning to see what connects us rather than what sets us apart.

Our home on wheels is Chag-Chag: a nomadic refuge that moves slowly and steadily, crossing visible and invisible borders alike.
A terrestrial vessel that carries us from one world to another: the one we think we know… and the one we need to rediscover.

*Chag-Chag is the mythical vessel from the universe of Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea, a cult 1980s series blending adventure, ecology, and science fiction.

It embodies silent wisdom, benevolent technology, and unwavering loyalty to those it carries.
Acting as a guardian—often one step ahead of danger—it intervenes to protect, guide, or warn.
Mute yet expressive, it is both companion and mentor, seemingly animated by a form of intuitive intelligence.

"A family united by love, curiosity about the world, and a passion for sharing."
