"The longest journey always begins with a single step." – Lao Tzu

Our adventure begins with an initial journey through Europe.

This first stage aims to find our footing, get used to life on the road, and discover the cultural richness of countries that are nearby yet profoundly unique.

We will then continue our journey toward Central and Southeast Asia.
At this stage, our goal is to stay mostly on paved roads or well-maintained recent tracks, in line with the current capabilities of our vehicle.

We will then ship our motorhome to North America, before continuing our journey through Central and South America, always following a route that is safe and accessible.

Today, our vehicle, a Challenger 337GA, is fully suited for standard roads and the infrastructure of Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Americas, as long as driving conditions remain favorable—on paved roads.

However, some regions of the world—particularly Central Asia, certain areas of South America, and Africa—would require a more robust, all-terrain vehicle to ensure safety, mechanical resilience, and autonomy in remote areas.

A 4×4 expedition vehicle would represent a major step forward to :

Increase autonomy and resilience in extreme climates,
Ensure a high level of safety,
Access more remote areas rich in cultural heritage.

This upgrade—essential to completing the full itinerary—requires a significant investment, which is not yet covered.
It could be made possible through the support, partnerships, and funding we hope to secure.

Countries outside the overland itinerary

In some cases, geographical, political, or security constraints make overland access difficult or even impossible.

This applies to landlocked or island nations, or countries subject to travel restrictions. For these destinations, the Heiwa project plans occasional visits by air, with local accommodation and use of regional transport.

These itinerary extensions will depend on the financial and logistical support received. Nonetheless, they are considered essential steps to broaden the project’s scope and represent a wider cultural diversity.

List of countries considered under this approach (subject to change):
Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Bhutan, Nepal, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Papua, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Cuba.

Heiwa’s ambition is to honor as many cultures as possible by gathering children’s voices across continents, regardless of geographical or political barriers.
